RobotHeadsWeekly Update: December 20th – December 26th
Hello everyone! Below are the things that we worked on in the past week and notable events in the coming week.
1. Persistent Issues with Solana
We hold a special place in our hearts for the Solana ecosystem, so it was very disheartening when Solana’s issues caused us to delay our launch. To make matters worse, all of our attempts to circumvent those issues were in vain. The process that we utilized for the BetaHeads giveaway became obsolete within 24 hours, and there was no way to know when Solana or the Candy Machine would begin to operate normally again or when we could come up with a novel solution. A week of toiling away at a fix led us to the conclusion that the project would either have to be suspended indefinitely or have to move to a new ecosystem.
2. The New Home of RobotHeads
On December 17, the decision to move to a new blockchain was made. It was not an easy choice by any means, but we felt that sitting and waiting until Solana was at full capacity again was unsustainable. We felt that we owed our community a full launch as promised, and if we did not act soon, we would break the trust of those who had faith in us.
The Terra blockchain is now the new home of RobotHeads. The Terra community is tight knit, just like we want our community to be. It is almost a perfect fit. Terra is very untapped, which means that as we grow, so too will Terra. All future launches will be on Terra.
3. ProtoHeads: Holiday Edition
Moving blockchain is not an easy process by any means, and considering the amount of learning we still need to do, it may take some time before our main collection is ready for minting. However, we still wanted to put something special out there as a thank you for your patience, and thus, the ProtoHeads: Holiday Edition was born. 100 ProtoHeads will venture out onto Terra this Friday, December 24, 2021 at 17:00 UTC (12:00 pm EST)! More details to come.
4. Staff Changes
As we enter this new chapter of our project, it is important for us to adapt and grow. As a result, there have been a few changes to our staff. Cyber Andrew has made the step up to Administrator and Albert (@albertbog10) has been promoted to the position of Community Liaison. Our Moderator team is as follows:
David Bless - Moderator and Head of the Indonesian Chat.
Frank - Moderator and Head of the Nigerian Chat.
Manny - Moderator and Head of the Spanish Chat.
5. Website Rework
The new era of RobotHeads is accompanied by a new website design! Most of the content is the same, but a lot has been reorganized. Our homepage will now function as a direct pathway to the newest content (the button in the RobotHead’s mouth will change accordingly). About Us now has its own page. A new addition to the website is our Story section, which replaces Collections. Check out the newest part, Volume 1!
6. Discord Update
Albert is now our Community Liaison, a role which involves making communication between the developers and the community as seamless as possible. In that role, he revamped the Discord on December 18th. Changelog is as follows:
